As a working studio, Left of Center Arts provides four main services:

Custom Artwork

Creating custom art is the primary service provided.  We enjoy the faithful patronage of many clients.  Some clients come to us to create gifts for friends and family, some have purchased pieces previously and are looking for companion pieces, and some are new clients looking to explore the possibility of ordering their first mosaic artwork.

Sale of Existing Work

I exhibit at many art fairs around the state and in competitions and galleries.  If you saw my work in any of these places and later decide to purchase something you didn’t at the time, no worries.  Just contact me and I’ll be happy to make sale arrangements with you. If the piece has since sold, we can talk about creating a similar piece as a custom order.  Please visit my gallery page on this site to see of the pieces available for sale.

 

Instruction

I have taught the art of mosaics for many years.  I have worked in all school grade levels, groups and with individuals.  If you are interested in exploring classes individually or with a small group, please contact me to discuss.  Please keep in mind that mosaic art is not a one day process and a class will require multiple visits to my studio.

 

Repair

If you have an existing mosaic that has suffered damage and you would like to see about having repairs done, please contact me to discuss.

My Process When Doing A Custom Piece

Collaboration is key!  I work with my clients on subject, size, shape, orientation, color and finish.

The beauty of mosaic art is that no two pieces can ever be exactly the same – similar yes, but not exact.  This makes each piece unique.

Mosaic art is time consuming. Done right, takes time.  

 

I Love to do custom orders.  It takes me the same amount of time to make something I hope someone likes and buys as it does to make a piece specific to a client.  Therefore, I do not add a surcharge for custom work.

  1. You and I talk about the subject and objective.
  2. We talk about color and materials.  I have completed hundreds of mosaic pieces, so we might look at samples to get ideas of color, materials and size.
  3. I create a sketch of the piece and (usually text) show it to you and we make any general changes.
  4. I create the piece and before grouting, show you to get final approval.
  5. I grout and seal the piece and mount hanging hardware (if applicable)
  6. I deliver the piece to you.

Pricing For Custom Art

Pricing is straight forward.

  • After we have determined size and materials and general complexity, I give you a price.  I require 50% down to start your piece and the remainder at delivery.
  • I take cash or credit card.
  • In some instances, I will ship pieces.  Packing and shipping will be additional.
